Respecting Information Privacy
We recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of information we collect that is capable of identifying an individual (“personal information”). In collecting and handling personal information, we are bound by the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, including the National Privacy Principles, and any other applicable privacy laws in Australia.
This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which personal information will be dealt with.
Proppel Pty Ltd does not share your personal information or property data with any third party organizations!!!
This Privacy Policy adopts the same definitions as those in the Principal Terms.
1.1.INFORMATION PROPPEL COLLECTS

We ask for and collect the following personal information about you when you use Proppel. This information is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract between you and us and to allow us to comply with our legal obligations.
It may be necessary for the adequate performance of the contract with you and/or to comply with applicable laws (such as anti-money laundering legislation). Without it, we may not be able to provide you with all the requested services.
- Account Information. We may require certain information such as your first name, last name, email address, phone number, address, and date of birth to hold an account.
- Application, Listing, and providing/using property data. To use certain features of the Proppel Portal (such as creating a property record), we may ask you to provide additional information, which may include a profile picture, property address, property attributes, property features, and lease terms such as rent amount and frequency.
- Payment Information. When you use our Payment Services, we require certain financial information (like your bank account or credit card information) in order to process payments and comply with applicable law. Proppel does not ever store Credit Card details. For clarity, your Credit Card Name, Number, Expiry Date, and the CVC (card verification code) are stored by our payment provider, National Australia Bank.
- Usage Information. We collect information about your interactions with the Website, such as the pages or content you view. This assists Proppel in improving our services.
- Log Data and Device Information. We automatically collect log data and device information when you access and use the Website. That information includes, among other things: details about how you’ve used the Website (including if you clicked on links to third-party applications), IP address, access dates and times, hardware and software information, device event information, unique identifiers, crash data, cookie data, and the pages you’ve viewed or engaged with before or after using the Website.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies. Like many websites, we use “cookie” technology to collect additional website usage data to improve our Services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer’s hard disk. There are two types of cookies: “session cookies,” which make it easier for you to navigate our site and expire when you close the browser, and “persistent cookies,” which remain on your hard drive for an extended period of time.
- Payment Transaction Information. Proppel collects information related to your payment transactions through the Website (if applicable), including the payment instrument used, date and time, payment amount, payment instrument expiration date and billing postcode, your address, and other related transaction details. This information is necessary for the adequate performance of the contract between you and Proppel and Assembly Payments Website to allow the provision of the Payment Services.
- Calendar Integration Data. When you create a to-do list with a date and time in the Proppel Portal, we collect and process the necessary data to synchronize your tasks with Google Calendar. This includes:
- To-do list titles, descriptions, dates, and times.
- Calendar settings such as reminders and notifications associated with the tasks.
2.HOW PROPPEL USES INFORMATION IT COLLECTS

- Enable you to access and use the Website/Portal.
- Provide you with targeted information to help guide the Property Management Process.
- Enable you to share & communicate with other Proppel Users.
- Operate, protect, improve, and optimise the Website and experience, such as by performing analytics and conducting research.
- Provide customer service.
- Send you service or support messages, updates, security alerts, and account notifications.
- Sync to-do list tasks with Google Calendar to facilitate task scheduling and reminders.
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
- Conduct security investigations and risk assessments.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
- Resolve any disputes with any of our Users and enforce our agreements with third parties.
- Enforce our Terms and other policies.
- Send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising, and other information that may be of interest to you based on your preferences.
- Personalise, measure, and improve our advertising.
Proppel processes this information given our legitimate interest in protecting the Website and our Users’ experience with it, to measure the adequate performance of our agreement with you, to comply with applicable laws and for the adequate performance of this agreement with you.
Proppel will process your personal information for the purposes listed in this section given our legitimate interest in undertaking marketing activities to offer you products or services that may be of your interest. You can opt-out of receiving marketing communications from Proppel via your profile settings in Proppel.
3.SHARING BETWEEN USERS
The Proppel Portal contains functions where users are able to share property data with other Proppel users.
This function is designed for purposes such as
- Users share property data with trusted individuals for the purposes of ongoing data entry for the property.
- Users share property data with trusted individuals for accounting review purposes (e.g. Your Accountant, real estate agent etc.)
This function is only for subscribers. Proppel Pty Ltd has not ability to share your property data to any other user.
Therein, any liability and data integrity for properties is the responsibility of the Proppel user for which shared the property .
4.OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Analysing your Communications.
We may review, scan, or analyse your communications on the Website for fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, investigation, product development, research, and customer experience and customer support purposes. For example, in some cases, we may also scan, review, or analyse messages to debug, improve, provide suggestions and expand product offerings. We use automated methods where reasonably possible. However, occasionally we may need to manually review some communications, such as for fraud investigations and customer support, or to assess and improve the functionality of these automated tools. We will not review, scan, or analyse your communications to send third party marketing messages to you, and we will not sell reviews or analyses of these communications.
These activities are carried out based on Proppel’s legitimate interest in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, our Terms, preventing fraud, promoting safety, and improving and ensuring the adequate performance of our services including renting on Common Ground.
5. THIRD PARTY PARTNERS & INTEGRATIONS
The Website may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as third-party integrations, co-branded services, or third-party-branded services (“Third-Party Partners”).
Google Calendar Integration. Proppel uses Google Calendar’s API to enable the synchronization of to-do list tasks. This integration adheres to Google’s Privacy Policy and API terms of service. When you connect your Google Account to the Proppel Portal, you are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
You may exercise any of the rights described in this section by contacting us. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before taking further action on your request.
- 6.1 Manage Your Data
You can access and update your information through your Proppel Profile. You are responsible for keeping your personal information up-to-date.
- 6.2 Data Access and Portability
You may request copies of your personal information held by us. You may also be entitled to request copies of personal information and Tenancy information that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and/or request us to transmit this information to another service provider (where technically feasible).
- 6.3 Fix Inaccurate or Incomplete Information
You have the right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information concerning you (and which you cannot update yourself within your Proppel Portal).
- 6.4. Data Retention and deletion
We generally retain your property data for as long as is necessary for the performance of the agreement between you and us and to comply with our legal obligations. If you no longer want us to use your information to provide the Website to you, you can delete your property data and request that we erase your personal information and close your Registration. Please note that if you request the deletion of your personal information:
- We may retain some of your personal information as necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud detection, aggregate data and prevention and enhancing safety. For example, if we suspend a Registration for fraud or safety reasons, we may retain certain information from that Registration to prevent that User from opening a new Registration in the future.
- Information you have shared with others may continue to be publicly visible on the Website, even after your Registration is cancelled. However, attribution of such information to you will be removed. Additionally, some copies of your information (e.g., log records) may remain in our database, but are disassociated from personal identifiers
- Because we maintain the Website to protect from accidental or malicious loss and destruction, residual copies of your personal information may not be removed from our backup systems for a limited period of time.
- Data Access and Portability. You may request access to your synced calendar data.
- Manage Your Data. You can enable or disable Google Calendar integration at any time through your Proppel Profile settings.
- Data Retention and Deletion. Proppel retains synced data only for the duration of the to-do list’s relevance. Deleting the to-do list in the Proppel Portal will not automatically delete the task from Google Calendar.
6.5. Lodging Complaints
You have the right to lodge complaints about the data processing activities carried out by Proppel before the competent data protection authorities.
7.SECURITY
We are continuously implementing and updating administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration.
Some of the safeguards we use to protect your information with encrypted connections and information access controls. If you know or have reason to believe that your portal credentials have been lost, stolen, misappropriated, or otherwise compromised or in case of any actual or suspected unauthorized use of your Registration, please contact us immediately – support@propel.com.au
8. MODIFICATION TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Proppel reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with this provision. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on in the portal and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the Terms.
If at anytime you disagree with this Privacy Policy, you may terminate our agreement effect immediately. If you do not terminate your Account before the date the revised Privacy Policy becomes effective, your continued access to or use of the Website will constitute acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
